Business Development Officer

Our client, a nationally active and rapidly growing specialty finance company, is seeking a Business Development Officer to expand its commercial funding portfolio. The organization provides flexible working capital solutions—including factoring and asset-based lending—to businesses across a wide range of industries. The Business Development Officer will be responsible for originating new client relationships, developing referral partnerships, and driving revenue growth through tailored capital solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and originate new factoring and asset-based lending opportunities
  • Develop and maintain referral relationships with brokers, bankers, CPAs, and financial advisors
  • Identify and prospect middle-market businesses in need of working capital solutions
  • Structure and present customized financing proposals based on client cash flow needs
  • Conduct preliminary financial analysis and collaborate with underwriting teams
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through closing
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contractual agreements
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and meet or exceed production targets
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, networking events, and trade associations


Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in factoring, asset-based lending, or alternative commercial finance
  • Demonstrated success originating and closing new business opportunities
  • Strong understanding of accounts receivable financing and working capital structures
  • Established referral network within commercial finance or advisory channels preferred
  • Self-motivated with the ability to operate independently in a performance-driven environment
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a results-oriented approach
