Chief Credit Officer

A well-established community banking institution is seeking a Chief Credit Officer to lead its credit administration and risk management functions. The Chief Credit Officer will oversee the bank’s credit operations, establish underwriting standards, and ensure the institution maintains sound risk management practices while supporting commercial lending initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the bank’s credit administration function and oversee credit risk management
• Establish and maintain underwriting standards, credit policies, and lending procedures
• Review and approve complex credit relationships and loan structures
• Monitor loan portfolio performance to ensure strong asset quality
• Manage credit analysts, underwriting teams, and credit administration staff
• Partner with executive leadership to support strategic loan growth initiatives
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal credit policies
• Participate in loan committee and executive leadership meetings
• Oversee problem loan management, loan grading, and risk mitigation strategies

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years of commercial banking experience with significant credit leadership responsibility
• Strong expertise in commercial credit underwriting and portfolio risk management
• Experience overseeing credit administration, loan review, or credit policy development
• Demonstrated leadership managing credit teams and cross-functional banking operations
• Deep understanding of regulatory compliance and banking credit standards
• Strong analytical, strategic, and decision-making abilities
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field preferred
