Tax Manager
Our client, a well-established and forward-thinking public accounting and advisory firm, is seeking a Tax Manager to join its expanding tax practice. The firm advises closely held businesses, middle-market companies, and high-net-worth individuals, delivering proactive tax strategy alongside compliance services. The Tax Manager will lead complex tax engagements, provide strategic planning insight, and serve as a key advisor to clients while mentoring staff and supporting practice growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and review complex federal and multi-state tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals
- Lead tax planning initiatives, including entity structuring, transaction planning, and strategic advisory
- Research and interpret evolving tax laws and regulatory developments
- Provide proactive guidance to clients on compliance, risk mitigation, and tax efficiency strategies
- Supervise, mentor, and review work prepared by senior and staff accountants
- Serve as a primary client contact for tax planning and compliance matters
- Assist with IRS and state audit strategy, correspondence, and resolution
- Contribute to business development and client retention efforts
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of public accounting experience with a strong focus in tax
- Significant experience reviewing complex business and individual tax returns
- Demonstrated expertise in tax planning and advisory services
- CPA license required
- Prior experience supervising and developing staff
- Strong technical research and analytical capabilities
- Excellent client communication and relationship management skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required; Master’s in Taxation preferred
