General Liability/Product Liability Associate Attorney

A well established litigation firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its General Liability and Product Liability practice in Southern California. This opportunity offers the chance to work on sophisticated, high exposure litigation matters for a diverse client base that includes national companies, insurers, and corporate entities. The firm fosters a collaborative environment where attorneys are given meaningful responsibility, strong mentorship, and the opportunity to develop substantial litigation experience.

This role is ideal for an attorney who is comfortable handling litigation matters independently while working as part of a larger litigation team on complex liability disputes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle a variety of general liability and product liability defense matters throughout California
• Manage cases through all phases of litigation, from initial case assessment through resolution
• Take and defend depositions, including plaintiffs, fact witnesses, and expert witnesses
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other substantive legal documents
• Review and analyze medical records, discovery materials, and case related documents
• Prepare witnesses for depositions, hearings, and trial
• Assist with trial strategy, preparation, and courtroom support
• Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status and litigation strategy
• Maintain organized case files and accurate billing records

Required Qualifications:

• At least three (3) years of litigation experience in general liability, product liability, insurance defense, or related practice areas
• Experience handling depositions and substantive motion practice
• Ability to independently manage an active litigation caseload
• Strong legal writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
• Experience working in a fast paced litigation environment
• Ability to manage competing deadlines and multiple priorities effectively
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Excellent interpersonal and client communication skills
• Active California Bar admission in good standing
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school required
