Trust & Estate Administration Attorney


A well-established law firm is seeking a Trust & Estate Administration Attorney to join its growing practice. The firm offers an opportunity to work directly with clients and their advisors on estate and trust administration matters, with exposure to federal estate, gift, Generation-Skipping Transfer, and fiduciary income tax matters. This is a client-facing role within a respected legal environment, with the opportunity to develop expertise across estate administration and related tax matters.

The Trust & Estate Administration Attorney will be responsible for assisting clients with the administration of estates and trusts, including court filings, financial and real estate review, accountings, funding calculations, and estate and gift tax matters.


Key Responsibilities:


• Draft court pleadings, proposed orders, notices, and other legal documents

• Communicate directly with clients and their advisors regarding estate and trust administration matters

• Meet with clients to discuss estate and trust administration matters

• Prepare and electronically file pleadings and motions with the Court

• Review real estate records, financial records, and income tax returns related to a decedent’s assets

• Prepare estate and trust accountings and funding calculations

• Advise clients regarding federal estate, gift, Generation-Skipping Transfer, and fiduciary income tax matters

• Prepare federal gift and estate tax returns

• Work with clients and other professional advisors throughout the administration process


Required Qualifications:


• Active Indiana Bar admission in good standing

• Strong interest in trust and estate administration and related tax matters

• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

• Demonstrated ability to work directly with clients and professional advisors

• Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment

• Experience in estate planning, real estate, corporate, or nonprofit matters is helpful but not required
