Commercial Loan Assistant
Location: Plano, TX
A well-established financial institution with a strong commitment to relationship banking is seeking an experienced Commercial Loan Assistant to support its commercial lending team. This individual will play a critical role in providing administrative, operational, and client service support throughout the lending process while helping ensure a seamless experience for both borrowers and lending officers.
The Commercial Loan Assistant will be responsible for assisting with loan documentation, processing, closing coordination, portfolio administration, and ongoing client support. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented banking professional with a strong understanding of commercial lending operations and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and operational support to Commercial Lenders throughout the loan origination and servicing process
- Prepare loan worksheets and assist with the processing, closing, booking, and maintenance of commercial and consumer loans
- Collect, review, and organize loan documentation, including appraisals, title work, flood certifications, financial information, and other required documents
- Ensure loan files are complete, accurate, and compliant with internal policies and regulatory requirements
- Verify loan documentation for proper signatures, legal descriptions, vesting information, dates, and other critical details
- Assist borrowers with loan applications and maintain accurate loan information within banking systems
- Coordinate with attorneys, title companies, appraisers, and other third parties to facilitate timely loan closings
- Prepare loan modifications, deferrals, renewals, and exception reporting documentation as needed
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding loan processing, loan servicing, and account information
- Process loan payments and assist with collection activities, including preparing and distributing past-due notices and collection correspondence
- Support relationship-building efforts by providing exceptional customer service and identifying opportunities to deepen banking relationships
- Promote and cross-sell appropriate banking products and services based on client needs
- Maintain ongoing communication with lenders and customers to ensure a smooth and efficient lending experience
- Assist with departmental projects and process improvement initiatives as needed
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; additional banking or financial services education preferred
- Prior banking experience required
- Commercial lending support experience strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of commercial loan documentation, processing, and servicing procedures
- Strong understanding of lending products and banking operations
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines
- Strong customer service and relationship management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Proficiency with banking software systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and sound judgment
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team-oriented environment
