VP Commercial Lender

A community-focused financial institution with a strong commitment to relationship banking is seeking a VP Commercial Lender to support continued growth within its commercial banking division. This opportunity offers portfolio ownership, direct client engagement, and the ability to contribute to meaningful loan growth within a stable and collaborative banking environment.


The VP Commercial Lender will focus on developing new business relationships, structuring customized credit solutions, and managing an existing portfolio while maintaining strong asset quality.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage a portfolio of commercial and middle-market lending relationships
  • Originate commercial and industrial (C&I) and commercial real estate loan opportunities
  • Structure and negotiate credit facilities including lines of credit, term loans, and real estate financing
  • Analyze financial statements, tax returns, and cash flow projections to assess credit risk
  • Prepare and present loan packages and recommendations to loan committee
  • Monitor portfolio performance to ensure strong asset quality and regulatory compliance
  • Cross-sell deposit and treasury management services to strengthen client relationships
  • Participate in community engagement and business development activities
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients regarding financing needs and opportunities


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of commercial lending experience within a banking environment
  • Demonstrated success in business development and portfolio growth
  • Strong financial analysis and credit underwriting expertise
  • Experience with C&I and commercial real estate lending structures
  • Solid understanding of regulatory compliance and lending policies
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Established local business network preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field preferred
