Senior Tax Manager


A growing accounting firm is adding an experienced tax professional to its leadership team. This position is intended for someone who wants to take the next step in their career while remaining involved in client service and technical tax work.

The Senior Tax Manager will work with a variety of clients, oversee tax engagements, provide guidance to team members, and contribute to the continued development of the practice. The role offers a combination of technical responsibility, client interaction, staff leadership, and opportunities to become more involved in the business.

Key Areas of Responsibility


  • Oversee tax engagements from planning through completion
  • Review tax returns and provide guidance on more complex matters
  • Work directly with clients on tax questions, planning, and ongoing needs
  • Manage deadlines, workflow, and engagement priorities
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships
  • Support and mentor accountants and other tax professionals
  • Assist with technical research and problem-solving
  • Participate in hiring, training, and development of team members
  • Identify opportunities to improve client service and internal processes
  • Work with other members of leadership on initiatives that support the growth of the practice
  • Assist with business development and expansion of client relationships


Candidate Profile


The ideal candidate will have a solid background in public accounting tax and be comfortable working with both clients and internal teams.

The firm is looking for someone with:

  • 7+ years of relevant tax experience
  • Experience preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns
  • Exposure to partnerships, corporations, S corporations, trusts, and related tax matters
  • CPA or EA certification
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Previous supervisory or management experience
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Professional judgment and strong attention to detail
  • Interest in developing clients, people, and the broader practice
