The Opportunity


A well-established, community-focused public accounting firm is seeking a highly skilled CPA / Tax Accountant to join their team. This is a rare, highly confidential strategic hire. For the right individual, this role offers a defined, fast-tracked path to equity ownership/partnership within the firm.

  • Position Type: Full-Time (Primary on-site, with hybrid flexibility for the right candidate)
  • Target Compensation: $100,000 – $130,000 base (Up to $150,000 for exceptional experience) + Partnership Track
  • Benefits: Comprehensive package including PTO, Health, Vision, Dental, and more.
  • Timeline: Active interviews are happening now for a late June target start date.

As a cornerstone of the office, you will blend high-level tax strategy with hands-on accounting, helping to oversee and boost our growing bookkeeping department while driving the business forward.


Core Responsibilities

  • Tax Preparation & Strategy: Manage and execute personal and small business tax planning, preparation, and filing.
  • Outsourced Accounting: Oversee general ledger maintenance and outsourced accounting functions for a diverse portfolio of small business clients.
  • Department Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with the bookkeeping team to ensure accuracy, streamlined workflows, and high-quality deliverables.
  • Client Relationship Management: Maintain and deepen relationships with a robust, established base of repeat customers.
  • Leadership Evolution: Step into an operational mindset with an eye toward ultimate business ownership and firm partnership.


What You Bring (Requirements)

  • Credentials: Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is strictly required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience in small business accounting and tax preparation.
  • Technical Breadth: Strong expertise in personal tax returns and a deep understanding of General Ledger (GL) accounting and outsourced accounting structures.
