Commercial Construction Superintendent

A respected commercial construction organization is seeking a Superintendent to oversee ground-up commercial projects ranging from $20M to $50M+. The ideal candidate will manage all aspects of site operations, including scheduling, subcontractor coordination, risk management, safety compliance, and quality control. This role involves communicating project milestones with clients, architects, trade partners, and project managers while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.


The Superintendent will report to the Indiana Operations leadership team and is responsible for leading all field personnel and subcontractors.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the entire operation of commercial construction sites, including wood frame, metal stud, and steel projects
  • Run profitable projects ranging from $5M to $50M+
  • Perform weekly safety inspections and/or safety meetings in compliance with company policies and OSHA standards
  • Interpret project scope, drawings, specifications, addendums, and change orders, and execute work processes accordingly
  • Schedule subcontractors and field manpower to optimize productivity
  • Order materials, tools, and equipment as required for onsite work
  • Communicate effectively between subcontractors, owners, architects, and project managers
  • Maintain all project records onsite in an organized and timely manner
  • Schedule non-building material deliveries during project startup
  • Conduct pre-construction meetings with subcontractors and suppliers to verify site layout and building dimensions; report discrepancies to the Project Manager


Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required; relevant certifications or college degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of field experience as a Superintendent or General Foreman preferred
  • Previous experience supervising subcontractors
  • Safety-first mindset with strong attention to quality and detail
  • Proficiency with construction technology platforms such as ProCore, SmartSheets, BlueBeam, and Excel
  • Ability to solve problems independently and maintain composure under pressure
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders without assistance
  • Ability to walk for extended periods of time unaided
  • Ability to lift at least 30 pounds without assistance
