Senior Tax Director

Our client is a well-established, full-service CPA firm with over four decades of history serving high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, and closely held businesses across a wide range of industries. With a strong reputation, low turnover, and more inbound business than they can currently service, this is a rare opportunity to step directly into an existing book of business without any pressure to generate new revenue from scratch. Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain direct client relationships across a diverse portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, closely held businesses, and business owners across multiple industries
- Oversee preparation and review of complex federal and state tax returns across entity types including individuals, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, trusts, and estates
- Collaborate directly with firm partners on tax planning, strategy, and client advisory matters
- Serve as a senior point of contact for clients, translating complex tax matters into clear and actionable guidance
- Mentor and provide direction to Tax Manager and staff level team members
- Participate in both preparation and review work in line with the firm's collaborative, hands-on structure
- Assist with IRS and state notices, correspondence, and audit support as needed
Qualifications:
- 10 or more years of public accounting or combined public and private tax experience
- Strong client-facing communication skills with the ability to build trusted, long-term relationships
- Broad technical background across multiple entity types and industries
- CPA required
- Team player mentality with a willingness to contribute at all levels of the work
