Strategic Account Executive – Complex Risk & Insurance Solutions
A nationally recognized and rapidly growing independent insurance brokerage is seeking a Strategic Account Executive to support its Complex Risk & Insurance Solutions practice. The organization partners with middle-market and large commercial clients to develop sophisticated insurance and risk management strategies across a wide range of industries. This opportunity offers the ability to serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership teams while delivering customized solutions for organizations with complex risk profiles.
The Strategic Account Executive will lead strategic client relationships, develop customized insurance and risk management programs, and collaborate with internal specialists and carrier partners to deliver comprehensive solutions that align with clients' long-term business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary strategic advisor for complex commercial insurance clients
- Build and maintain executive-level relationships with business owners, CFOs, risk managers, and other key stakeholders
- Lead comprehensive account planning, stewardship meetings, and long-term client strategy discussions
- Evaluate client operations and identify opportunities to improve risk management and reduce total cost of risk
- Design and implement complex commercial insurance programs, including property, casualty, professional liability, executive liability, cyber, environmental, and specialty coverages
- Develop alternative risk financing strategies, including captives, self-insured retentions, deductible programs, and layered insurance placements
- Collaborate with producers, carrier partners, wholesale brokers, and internal specialists to market, negotiate, and place sophisticated insurance programs
- Present strategic insurance recommendations supported by coverage analysis and market intelligence
- Partner with business development teams to pursue new opportunities and expand existing client relationships
- Lead multidisciplinary account teams while mentoring Account Executives and other service professionals
- Stay current on insurance market trends, emerging risks, underwriting conditions, and regulatory developments
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of commercial insurance brokerage or risk consulting experience serving middle-market or large commercial clients
- Demonstrated expertise managing complex commercial insurance programs
- Strong knowledge of commercial property, casualty, executive liability, professional liability, cyber liability, environmental liability, and specialty insurance products
- Experience developing alternative risk financing strategies, including captives, self-insured programs, and large deductible structures
- Proven ability to build trusted relationships with executive-level clients and serve as a strategic business advisor
- Strong negotiation, presentation, communication, and relationship management skills
- Experience collaborating across multidisciplinary insurance and risk management teams
- Active Property & Casualty insurance license
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, Insurance, Finance, or a related field preferred
- Professional designations such as CPCU, ARM, CRM, CIC, CLCS, CRIS, or RPLU are highly preferred
