Commercial Lender

Location: North Dallas, TX


A Texas-based community bank with a strong balance sheet and a commitment to relationship banking is seeking a Commercial Lender to support continued growth within its commercial banking division. With a healthy loan-to-deposit ratio and strong lending capacity, the bank is well-positioned to continue expanding its presence throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth market. The organization has built a reputation for responsive decision-making, local market expertise, and long-term relationships with business owners across Texas.


The Commercial Lender will focus on developing new business relationships, originating commercial loans, and building a portfolio from the ground up while maintaining strong credit quality and contributing to the bank’s overall growth strategy.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage a portfolio of commercial lending relationships throughout the DFW market
  • Originate commercial loans with an emphasis on commercial and industrial (C&I) loan opportunities
  • Structure and negotiate credit facilities including lines of credit, term loans, and real estate financing
  • Target lending opportunities generally ranging from $1MM to $5MM in size
  • Analyze financial statements, tax returns, and cash flow projections to assess credit risk
  • Partner with clients to bring deposit relationships alongside lending opportunities
  • Utilize the bank’s participation capabilities to accommodate larger credit requests when appropriate
  • Participate in community engagement and business development activities throughout the DFW area
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients regarding financing needs and opportunities
  • Be active and involved in the local business community


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of commercial lending experience within a banking environment
  • Demonstrated success in business development and portfolio growth
  • Strong network and established business relationships throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth market
  • Experience originating and managing C&I lending relationships
  • Experience with commercial real estate lending structures, particularly owner-occupied properties
  • Strong financial analysis and credit underwriting expertise
  • Solid understanding of regulatory compliance and lending policies
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to build a loan portfolio from scratch and develop long-term client relationships
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field preferred
