A well-established and highly respected civil construction company is seeking a Civil Estimator to join their growing team. The Civil Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of heavy civil and site development projects. This individual will work closely with operations, project management, subcontractors, and leadership to develop winning bids and help drive continued company growth.

Project Types May Include

• Heavy highway and roadway construction
• Site development
• Earthwork and grading
• Underground utilities
• Concrete and asphalt paving
• Bridges and infrastructure improvements
• Municipal and DOT projects
• Water/wastewater projects

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates from plans and specifications
• Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare bid packages
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
• Develop accurate labor, equipment, and material pricing
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits
• Collaborate with project managers and field operations teams during bid preparation
• Identify project risks and value engineering opportunities
• Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and clients
• Assist with budgeting, scheduling, and conceptual estimating as needed
• Ensure estimates are completed accurately and within deadlines

Qualifications

• 3+ years of estimating experience within civil or heavy civil construction
• Experience with site development, utilities, roadway, or infrastructure projects preferred
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
