Preconstruction Manager

A respected and growth-oriented construction and development firm is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to lead early-phase project planning and cost analysis for commercial construction initiatives. The Preconstruction Manager will oversee budgeting, estimating, and project planning efforts while coordinating closely with clients, architects, engineers, and internal project teams to ensure successful project delivery.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead preconstruction efforts from initial concept through project start
  • Develop detailed project estimates, budgets, and cost models
  • Review drawings and specifications to identify scope, risks, and opportunities for value engineering
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and consultants during the design development process
  • Manage subcontractor and supplier bid processes
  • Conduct constructability reviews and recommend cost-effective solutions
  • Present estimates, schedules, and planning updates to clients and internal leadership
  • Support transition of projects from preconstruction to operations teams
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting throughout the preconstruction process


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in construction estimating, preconstruction, or project management
  • Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, materials, and pricing
  • Experience preparing detailed cost estimates and project budgets
  • Ability to review and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with clients and project teams
  • Proficiency with estimating software and project management tools
  • Strong organizational and analytical abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
