We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join a highly respected commercial general contractor with a strong reputation for delivering complex, high-profile projects. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing multiple projects and project teams while ensuring successful execution from preconstruction through closeout.


The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, financial management, client relationship, and operational expertise, with a proven track record of delivering commercial construction projects safely, on time, and within budget.


Position Summary


The Senior Project Manager will provide overall leadership and strategic direction for commercial construction projects while mentoring project teams and serving as the primary point of contact for owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors. This individual will play a critical role in maintaining project profitability, client satisfaction, and operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities


Project Leadership & Execution

  • Lead multiple commercial construction projects simultaneously from preconstruction through project closeout.
  • Develop and implement project execution strategies to ensure successful delivery of project goals.
  • Oversee project schedules, budgets, procurement, contracts, and staffing plans.
  • Monitor project performance and proactively address challenges, risks, and opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety requirements, and quality standards.

Financial Management

  • Manage project budgets, forecasting, cost controls, and financial reporting.
  • Review and approve subcontractor agreements, change orders, and purchase orders.
  • Analyze project financial performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Prepare and present monthly financial updates to executive leadership.


Client & Stakeholder Relations

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Serve as the primary client contact throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead project meetings and provide clear communication regarding project status, schedule, and budget.
  • Identify opportunities for repeat business and long-term client partnerships.


Team Development

  • Mentor and develop Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, and field personnel.
  • Promote collaboration between field operations and project management teams.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.


Preconstruction & Business Development

  • Participate in project pursuits, budgeting, estimating reviews, and client presentations.
  • Provide constructability reviews and value engineering recommendations.
  • Support business development initiatives and contribute to strategic growth efforts.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of commercial construction project management experience with a general contractor.
  • Proven experience managing projects ranging from $10M to $100M+.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, scheduling, budgeting, and project controls.
  • Experience leading diverse project teams and managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Proficiency with project management software and scheduling platforms.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
