Business Development Officer

A rapidly growing specialty finance platform focused on providing flexible working capital solutions is seeking a Business Development Officer to support continued expansion of its national origination efforts. The firm is known for its responsive underwriting, creative deal structuring, and strong relationships within the commercial finance ecosystem. This opportunity offers significant autonomy in the market, strong earning potential, and the ability to play a meaningful role in the growth of a dynamic lending platform.

The Business Development Officer will be responsible for generating new factoring relationships, cultivating referral networks, and working directly with business owners and advisors to structure tailored working capital solutions that support operational growth.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and originate new factoring and working capital financing opportunities through direct outreach and referral channels
  • Develop and maintain relationships with brokers, bankers, restructuring professionals, and other commercial finance referral partners
  • Structure financing solutions designed to address clients’ liquidity and cash flow requirements
  • Perform preliminary financial analysis and collaborate with internal underwriting teams during the approval process
  • Negotiate transaction terms, pricing structures, and client agreements
  • Maintain a consistent pipeline of prospective opportunities and manage transactions through the full origination cycle
  • Represent the organization at industry conferences, networking events, and professional associations
  • Partner with internal operations and credit teams to ensure a smooth transition from closing through onboarding


Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience within factoring, asset-based lending, or alternative commercial finance
  • Demonstrated success sourcing and closing new client relationships
  • Solid understanding of accounts receivable financing and working capital structures
  • Established network of referral partners within banking, advisory, or commercial finance channels preferred
  • Ability to operate independently while managing a consistent sales pipeline
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship development capabilities
  • Self-motivated professional with an entrepreneurial approach to business development
